Day 5149

Bridger's History Book

"What are these markings?" Adept asked, gesturing toward the gray hashmarks on the bed of the old truck with her chin.

"The symbols represent the clan or tribe, the lines represent kills." I answer.

"And the little crowns?" she continued.

"Those mean that we killed their leader."

"What is this flame? I don't know that tribe." Adept asked.

"It's the symbol of Ignis, the warlord of the Nox." I replied, remembering the death of our leader, the Silver Man, at the hands of the Warlord. "Before your time."

Adept takes the battered can of gray paint from the back and a little brush from her pack. She hunkered down and started to dab gray paint on the side of the truck, stabbing at it with the brush like a knife. A few moments later there was the outline of a spider, the symbol of the Cult of the Spider, beside it she made two lines, one of which had the little crown above it.

"That's for the High Nocturne and the fat caretaker," Adept says pointing at the new marks, "THOSE are mine."
